There was a fantastic response to the recent Dartmouth and District Business Survey.

Some highlights include:

  • 101 businesses completed the survey
  • 94% trade in Dartmouth
  • Over half want to join the Chamber of Commerce
  • Business owners are overwhelmingly optimistic
  • The biggest challenges to business were business costs and availability of staff
  • Taxes, rates, parking and housing are key areas for improvement

There was also a clear message on what is required of the new Chamber of Commerce:

  • Representation on local councils
  • Engaging with Anthony Mangnall (MP)
  • Ability to discuss issues with councillors and MP
  • Lobbying all tiers of local government
  • A voice for business in the town
