There was a fantastic response to the recent Dartmouth and District Business Survey.
Some highlights include:
- 101 businesses completed the survey
- 94% trade in Dartmouth
- Over half want to join the Chamber of Commerce
- Business owners are overwhelmingly optimistic
- The biggest challenges to business were business costs and availability of staff
- Taxes, rates, parking and housing are key areas for improvement
There was also a clear message on what is required of the new Chamber of Commerce:
- Representation on local councils
- Engaging with Anthony Mangnall (MP)
- Ability to discuss issues with councillors and MP
- Lobbying all tiers of local government
- A voice for business in the town
